We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager with specialized expertise in heavy highway and bridge construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale civil projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Heavy Civil Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project execution, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, subcontractor management, and client communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource requirements.
  • Create detailed construction schedules and monitor progress against established timelines.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Establish project budgets in collaboration with senior management and finance teams.
  • Monitor project expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety standards.
  • Coordinate with resource managers to allocate personnel, equipment, and materials as per project requirements.
  • Optimize resource utilization to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Procure necessary resources and materials in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Provide on-site supervision and guidance to project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Resolve any construction-related issues or conflicts that may arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide regular project updates, including progress reports, budgetary status, and potential deviations from the original plan.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in heavy civil construction, with a focus on highway and bridge projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, techniques, and materials.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., AASHTO, ASTM, OSHA).
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work extended hours as needed.
