About the Role:

As the Asphalt QC Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and adherence to specifications of asphalt produced at multiple plant locations. You will oversee the Quality Control (QC) processes, manage QC technicians, and collaborate closely with production teams to maintain high standards of asphalt production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in asphalt testing methodologies, particularly for projects involving DOT, tollway, airport, and railyard construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Quality Control plans for asphalt production at multiple plant locations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing of asphalt materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Supervise and mentor QC technicians, providing training and guidance on testing procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing results, production data, and quality control measures.
  • Coordinate with external laboratories for specialized testing and analysis when required.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, regulations, and best practices related to asphalt production and quality control.
  • Participate in project meetings and liaise with clients, engineers, and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety within the QC team and across plant operations.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Asphalt Quality Control or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of asphalt testing methodologies and procedures.
  • Experience with DOT, tollway, airport, and railyard projects is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and specifications (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO).
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in computer applications for data analysis and reporting.
  • Union affiliation or willingness to join a union if not already a member.
