Position Overview: As a Mechanical Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of mechanical construction projects from initiation to completion. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and technical expertise in mechanical systems and construction management. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and clients, to ensure successful project delivery within budget and schedule constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Execution:

    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
    • Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure that design specifications meet project requirements and regulatory standards.
    • Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services necessary for project execution.
    • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or obstacles, and implement corrective actions as needed to keep the project on track.
  2. Team Leadership and Management:

    • Lead and motivate project teams, including internal staff and external contractors, to achieve project objectives.
    • Delegate tasks effectively, provide guidance and support, and foster a collaborative working environment.
    • Conduct regular meetings with team members to communicate project goals, updates, and expectations.
    • Resolve conflicts or issues that may arise during the course of the project, ensuring timely resolution to minimize impact on project timelines.
  3. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

    • Implement quality control measures to ensure that workmanship and materials meet industry standards and project specifications.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify any deviations from quality requirements and take corrective actions as necessary.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all project phases.
  4. Client Communication and Relationship Management:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing progress updates, and managing expectations.
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and concerns, and incorporate feedback into project planning and execution.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships through open communication, professionalism, and delivering results that exceed expectations.
  5. Budget and Cost Management:

    • Develop project budgets and forecasts, tracking expenses and ensuring that expenditures remain within approved limits.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings or value engineering without compromising project quality or performance.
    • Review and approve invoices, change orders, and other financial documents related to the project.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in mechanical construction project management.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping, and their integration into construction projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations, including ASHRAE, NFPA, and OSHA requirements.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
