Job Overview: As a Commercial Construction Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of commercial construction projects. You will work closely with the project management team, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. Your responsibilities will include coordinating project activities, managing documentation, resolving technical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate activities between different project stakeholders including subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

  2. Documentation Management: Maintain accurate project documentation including contracts, drawings, specifications, change orders, and RFIs (Requests for Information). Ensure all documentation is organized, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant parties.

  3. Technical Support: Provide technical support to project teams by interpreting drawings and specifications, resolving design issues, and coordinating with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to implement solutions.

  4. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control procedures to ensure work meets specified standards and requirements. Conduct regular inspections and reviews to identify and address quality issues promptly.

  5. Cost Control: Assist in monitoring project costs and expenditures. Track project expenses, analyze variances, and identify opportunities for cost savings or cost avoidance.

  6. Schedule Management: Monitor project schedules and timelines to ensure work progresses according to plan. Identify potential delays or conflicts and work proactively to resolve them to minimize impact on project deadlines.

  7. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all project personnel. Conduct regular safety inspections, address safety concerns, and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.

  8. Communication: Facilitate clear and effective communication among project team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress, issues, and risks to ensure all parties are informed and aligned.


  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  2. Previous experience in commercial construction project management or engineering role preferred.
  3. Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  4. Proficiency in construction project management software such as Procore, Primavera, or Microsoft Project.
  5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  7. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  8. OSHA certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
